Following classroom instruction, students are divided into two groups for “hands on application” to create kits.  Each group is given “special considerations” for their specific family such as having a dog, a baby or a medically dependent adult.

Group One

  • Assembles a Go Kit
  • Family leaves home for 72 hours

Group Two

  • Assembles a Shelter-in-Place Kit
  • Family needs to stay in home for 72 hours

Students are then partnered up, broken into teams and participate in an interactive trivia game to test their knowledge.
